American Finkl 420 high precision plastic mold steel is a martensitic stainless steel, because of the low carbon content and has very good rust resistance and corrosion resistance, not only for plastic molds, but also for the production of diving knives ideal steel. The famous Rui + military knife is used in this steel. Finkl 420 mold steel has high purity, high mirror degree, good polishing performance, excellent rust resistance and acid resistance. Heat treatment deformation is less advantages, used in the manufacture of PVC and other strong corrosive plastic mold. Transparent plastic and polishing requirements of high plastic mold is very appropriate.

Finkl 420 plastic mold steel has excellent corrosion resistance, polishability, excellent wear resistance and machinability; 420 has excellent stability when quenched. The mold cavity surface still maintains the original smooth state after a long period of use, and does not require special protection when operating and storing in wet environments, effectively reducing maintenance costs. Since the mold cooling water channel is not affected by corrosion (unlike ordinary mold steel), the heat transfer characteristics and cooling efficiency remain stable throughout the mold life cycle, ensuring constant mold forming time.

Due to its special properties, it is more suitable for special environment. It is widely used in all kinds of plastic products moulds and moulds made in weak acid and humid environment; transparent plastic products moulds (such as CD discs, optical instruments, etc.); mirror moulds with high polishability and plastic moulds with special requirements.

In order to meet the requirements that the mold can work on the injection molding machine for a long time or the maximum number of parts, it can be quenched and tempered at low temperature, then quenched in oil and cooled and tempered immediately to prevent cracking, after tempering, the hardness will be greatly increased, with better polishability and better corrosion resistance.

Desson is delivered in soft annealed to 230HB, or pre-hardened 30-35HRC.
