German Gröditz 1.2311 plastic mould steel is a conventional molten (EF+LF+VD) mould steel that can be polished, nitrided, chromated, and textured. If customers want a higher standard of sunburst and polish, we recommend XPM or XPM VICTORY ESR material.

The benefits of Gröditz 1.2311 plastic mould steel include: excellent polishability, photo-etching, machinability, and wear resistance; uniform hardness and dense organisation for large moulds; no risk of quenching and thermal external deformation; and no need for heat treatment, which can shorten the mould making cycle. Surface atmospheric properties are good, and it can be surface flame hardened.

Steel nitriding treatment for Gröditz 1.2311 plastic mould can improve the surface hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. It can still be heat treated to improve the hardness after pre-hardening treatment.
