Schmiede arbeitet Gröditz GmbH was founded in 1779 and has been manufacturing special steels for over 200 years. Because of its consistent and outstanding quality, Gröditz VICTORY ESR series mould steel is sold all over the world. To meet the industry’s high technical requirements, Gröditz has seven branch plants with high capacity electric arc furnaces with a maximum ingot weight of 140 tons and electroslag remelting plants with a maximum ingot mass of 84 tons and a maximum diameter of 1600 mm and the highest degree of purity.

The 1.2083 mould steel imported from Gröditz Steel in Germany has excellent corrosion resistance, wear resistance, hardenability, and machinability.

1.2083 mould steel, also known as W.1.2083 steel, has a low impurity content, good quenching stability, and a low deformation rate during quenching.

Maintenance costs are relatively low due to its good corrosion resistance; its high surface accuracy and good polishing properties allow long-term production to maintain the original high precision.

1.2083 mould steel is suitable for electro-etching operations, acidic plastics, and moulds requiring good polishing.

It is primarily used in PVC moulds, wear-resistant moulds, and filler moulds, as well as hot-hard plastic moulds and long-life moulds, such as moulds for disposable tableware, moulds for optical product parts, moulds for cameras, moulds for sun lenses, moulds for medical containers, moulds for optical discs, and so on.
